Position Title: Senior Scientist, Generative Machine Learning

Position Overview
The Senior Scientist, Generative Machine Learning will be a key contributor to our algorithm team, working on innovating and developing new research and product features for our cardiac electrophysiology mapping system. They will be responsible for improving mapping efficacy by designing, developing, testing, and improving machine learning algorithms on multi-channel time series data used for mapping cardiac activation and treating cardiac arrhythmia.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following are the major responsibilities needed for the role. Additional responsibilities, tasks, and duties will be assigned and required as needed.
- Leverage statistical, ML, and optimization techniques to model complex problems, uncover hidden patterns, and drive innovation in cardiac signal reconstruction and feature discovery.
- Build machine learning models and systems end-to-end, covering data collection, labeling, model design, and deployment.
- Investigate and implement innovative real-time applications and algorithms for cardiac signals.
- Validate, refine and optimize mapping algorithms and ML model to improve accuracy, efficiency, and clinical applicability.
- Evaluate, adapt, and enhance prototype algorithms developed by internal teams and external consultants.
- Work closely with the software engineering team to ensure computational efficiency and real-time performance of implemented algorithms.
- Rapid prototype and test algorithms for feasibility and performance
- Document design requirements and updates throughout the entire system life cycle.
Experience, Education and Skills Required
Below are the minimum skills, formal education, certifications or training, and practical experience required to perform the general functions and duties of the role.
- Bachelor’s or higher in scientific/engineering discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with cardiac anatomy and electrophysiology, ECG, unipolar/bipolar electrogram, preferred.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, and MATLAB and experience in using PyTorch.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI for enhancing images, reconstructing signals, and/or solving inverse problems.
- Expertise in designing deep learning algorithms and systems driven by foundation models.
- Hands-on experience on training and deploying large models.
- Solid expertise in linear algebra and optimization.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concept effectively to both technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and ability to adapt to a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Strong interest in solving complex problems in the medical domain.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum new hire pay for the position located in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location, additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
